Spray Booths
Bowker Machinery Ltd manufacture, supply and install
a wide range of spray booths. We specialise in powder
coating equipment and a large part of our work is
in this area focuses on supplying spray booths suitable
for powder coating, however we can also supply spray
booths suitable for wet paint and varnish.
Before choosing a spray booth the strengths and weaknesses
of each type should be analysed. Here follows a summary
of the different types written by our Director/Chief
engineer Tony Bowker who has many years of experience
using and building spray booths:
Water back booths:
Ideal for wet paint and varnishes, no filters to
clog and the liquid over-spray will mix with the water.
Not so good for powder though as all the over-sprayed
powder finishes in the water trough and before too
long forms a thick sludge that can represent a disposal
problem. The spray jets hidden behind the water screen
can also get clogged up and the efficiency of the
cleaning action will be reduced. Also expensive to
buy and the flue requires exhausting to atmosphere.
Dry filter back booths:
Inexpensive to buy, these seem to be fine for light
use but as there is no method of cleaning the filters
properly this can soon lead to powder extraction problems.
Filter Bag Extraction with Shaker System:
Work well when new but the bags can get blighted
up, particularly when being used in a damp atmosphere.
The shaker system often fails to clean the bags properly.
The filter bags can also be expensive to source and
change. |
