Curing Ovens for the Powder Coating Industry

Bowker Machinery manufacture, deliver, install and train in the use of our own range of curing ovens for use in the powder coating industry. Sometimes known as powder coating ovens or powder curing ovens our range of industrial ovens have been custom designed for use in the powder coating industry. Manufacturing our own range of curing ovens gave us the opportunity to eliminate many problems that we had often found in used ovens. In our experience many curing ovens suffer from inadequate heat transfer between the burner box and oven, uneven heat distribution and inadequate fan capacity.

Our ovens incorporate our own manufactured high temperature fans; these are of the centrifugal type with multi-vane impellers giving very high rates of air flow. Consequently the heat transfer is very efficient and due to our own registered design vertical ductile system the heat is distributed evenly throughout the oven. On ovens of 6 metres or larger we use either dual burners or a dual fan system depending on our customer's requirements.

Insulation is provided by using 100mm thick, high density rockwool sandwiched between galvanised steel panels. The cross struts that comprise the framework for the panels are made to keep heat transfer to a minimum. Doors are built from heavy-duty steel plate with strong hinges and a very sturdy locking system that also incorporates an interior safety unlocking mechanism, a legal requirement for any oven larger than 1 M³ Controls are provided via a Siemens computer that allows for an automatic cycle including timing the cure and run down time with easy to adjust keyboard controls.

The complete structure can be delivered flat-packed and can be built in one day for ovens up to 4 metres and two days for ovens up to 6 metres.

Our standard range is manufactured to be 2.5 metres wide (less internal ducting), either 2.2 or 2.5 metres high and in lengths from 2 metres up to 8 metres (in multiples of 1 metre). As standard Double doors are fitted the full width of one end and can also be fitted both ends. The burner box is fitted to the roof in a central position, which makes a total height of 3 metres. If headroom is an issue, the oven can be manufactured with the burner box at floor level at the rear.
